Technical correction on SRAM shift brake levers

In November 2023, we received a service notice from SRAM regarding potential issues with the shift brake levers and a recall for servicing them.
The issue may manifest in such a way that the lever, mounted with the tension specified by the manufacturer, is not tightened sufficiently. The cause is an excessive application of the locking compound on the thread of the mounting T-bolt, which consequently allows the shift brake lever on the handlebar to move. The user may lose control of the bicycle and fall.
Shift/brake levers subject to this recall:
The described defect may occur only in aftermarket (AFTERMARKET) 12-speed SRAM eTap AXS RED, Force, Rival, and Apex shift levers sold directly to consumers for self-installation, manufactured before July 1, 2023, and have not been modified; a list of part codes is available at the end of this document.
Shift levers on bicycles that are either assembled/checked before delivery (OEM) or installed by the retailer are not included in this recall.
Proloco Trade d.o.o., as the representative of the SRAM brand in the Slovenian market, has already conducted a check of all aftermarket shift brake levers subject to this recall by the end of November and replaced the problematic T-bolts with the manufacturer.
